For an uninterupted view, right click on your desktop and highlight 'Arrange Items By' then untick 'Show Desktop Items' (you can always put it back again...) For total desktop, right click in your taskbar (thats any unused bit right at the bottom of the screen) then choose 'Properties' then tick 'Auto-hide the taskbar' (you can always put it back again...) Nice!!!
